One Plus One Group

One Plus One is a leading New Zealand corporate communications and engagement consultancy. We are storytellers for a connected world.

About Us

One Plus One Communications is an award-winning, independent communications company, based in New Zealand, with international reach and connectivity. We are reputation builders, content creators, and strategic business partners, who specialise in earned media narratives that stimulate conversation, affect change, and deliver beneficial commercial results.

Our manifesto, created collaboratively by our team, guides and informs the work we do, and the way we operate:

  • To put the culture of our team first, alongside the needs of those we work for.
  • To be honest with each other about what we can deliver, by staying engaged and connected.
  • To constantly realign our vision to be better than we were last week, last month & last quarter.
  • To focus on providing tangible benefits for our clients that make a genuine different to their business.
  • To remember that everything we do is done in service for those that pay us.
  • And not to become complacent: about growing and developing both personally and professionally.

Our success stems from an informed and impartial point of view (honed over decades of experience working both domestically and abroad), to the communications challenges and opportunities that our clients face.

Our advice and work is designed to improve perceptions and enhance revenues for our clients. We deliver work based on earned and owned media strategy that helps solve client problems, improves brand engagement, drive sales and creates loyalty.

And it seems to work pretty well: in previous agencies we’ve founded and run, we’ve won a bunch of domestic and international accolades for our efforts.

How we work

We prefer not to pitch for clients. We reckon there’s a better way to do things – we focus on building long-lasting relationships that involve open dialogue, great work and brilliant results. Our preference is to share our credentials and case studies and demonstrate evidence of the sorts of successful business outcomes we’ve created for our clients.

Communication services

Reputation Management, Integrated Communications Planning, CEO and Senior Management Counsel, Government Relations, Investor Relations, Business-to-Business Communications, Issues and Crisis Management, Employee Communication and Culture Building, Brand Management and Development, New Product Launches, Content Development, Media Training, Content Creation and Relationship Building, Web, Film, Video and Print Production, Activations and Experiential Campaigns

Broadly, we work in communication situations involving business growth and transformation, brand and culture building, issues management and innovation. We offer a range of services directed towards the needs of clients requiring strategic and tactical integration of communications.

Current & Recent Clients

Our client partnerships range from start-ups and SMEs to some of New Zealand’s most successful and well-known companies — some of which have been with us since we launched. Most of these have been nurtured over years and years of mutual growth and development, where we’ve worked closely with people who we respect and trust. For our full list of client partnerships, or for specific case studies, feel free to get in contact with us.

International Reach

We’re the New Zealand partners of MSLGROUP, an award-winning, global strategic communications and engagement consultancy with nearly 3500 employees operating from 100 offices in 22 countries. We share the same philosophies as MSLGROUP, employ the same approach and are proud to be their affiliates. The close collaboration provides our existing and future clients with the insights and resources of a global network, coupled with on-the-ground representation in every major international market.
